Living Above The Line

I was recently introduced to the concept of living above and below the line and wanted to share it with you. While many of us have heard these principles before, thinking about being above/below the line is a great way to visualize our patterns.

When we live above the line, we see life from a positive place and are hopeful, creative, and optimistic. When we live below the line, our attitudes are more negative and we can feel powerless, sad, angry, fearful or hopeless.

It is important to remember that we are in charge of how we see the world. While we are continually faced with challenges, the key is recognizing when certain thoughts enter our stream of consciousness and working on how we react to these challenges. To quote Epictetus – “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.”

For example, lets say…

Love is the greatest gift God ever gave

Love is the greatest gift God ever gave man. Love  is not wanting to go anywhere without her. Love is when you feel depressed and sickly without her. Love is caring for her physicaly and emotionally. It’s telling her everyday anytime anywhere anyhow for no just reason that you love her. Love is telling her you want to spend the rest of your life with her. Love is wanting to hold her in your arms until the end of time. Love is being helplessly and deeply in love with her and knowing your love and feelings for her will never change/end.

Friends

I thought of you today.

As I met a friend for coffee.

Coffee lunch and dinner dates, shopping, beach trips the mountains, girls night out, and craft days.

Sweet fellowship, friendship, and laughter.

Talk of life, struggles, testimonies, kids, and everything personal.

Memories and laughter, we shared it all.

Your memories, forever cherished.

Friends and fellowship, I miss you all.

Placed in my life when God knew my need.

Now so far away, in my heart you’ll forever be.

Love letter

I loved you when I first saw you. I knew you would be my everything. You made me laugh and smile, something I stopped doing for a while. We’re part of His plan. He knew we would be together before we knew. He was preparing our hearts long ago. While we were both hurt and faced many challenges He was shaping and molding us to be a perfect fit. We continue to face challenges as all marriages do. I promise to give you all my heart. There is only one before you and that’s the way it should be. With Jesus first all things will fall in place. Hang in there through our challenges. Stay strong and lead me with strong hands. Allow those challenges to grow our marriage and build everlasting bonds. I love you always and with all of me.

Too weak to walk alone.

Thank you for being there when I had cancer and never leaving me alone.

Thank you for carrying me when I was too weak to walk.

Thank you for loving me when I was hard to love.

Thank you for forgiving me when I didn’t deserve your forgiveness.

Thank you for your faithfulness, humility, and strength.

Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

Thank you for eternity, hope, the cross, and your undying love.
