“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a fight through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.” Romans 3:23-25
I have been thinking a lot lately about the whole situation with Lance Armstrong. He is a non-believer yes, but in regard to Romans 3:23-25 we are all sinners. He is a sinner and you are a sinner and I am a sinner. We all sin. No one sin is greater than another for it is all sin. Yes, he sinner but the bible tells us to let the first without sin cast the first stone. It is so important for us to understand the only way we are forgiven our sins is through the free gift of grace by faith. We are responsible for our sin and will answer for our sins one day before the Lord. We aren’t supposed to judge. Instead we should pray for those who do not know our Heavenly Father.
It has been rainy and I was looking for a good warm rainy day recipe. I went through my pantry and found the following ingredients made a perfect bean soup. It had great flavor and was a simple comfort food for our rainy day. It is packed with protein and super good for you!
Bean Soup Recipe
1/2 bag of mixed soup beans (rinsed and drained)
1/4 bag black eye peas (rinsed and drained)
1/2 bag of 16 oz mixed vegetables
* salt and pepper to taste and one stick of butter (optional)
Soak the mixed beans and black eye peas in water over night (salted). Add frozen vegetables. In crock pot cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with homemade fresh bread or rolls.
I love love love simple recipes!
1/2 cup milk
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup Jif
1 tsp. vanilla
In medium pan mix milk and sugar. Heat on medium heat until it boils. Boil until it reaches soft ball candy stage or just over two minutes. Stir the whole time. Take off burner and add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir and put in desired pan. The thicher the better. I suggest using a small glass baking dish.
I made 8 loaves of homemade banana bread. I worked on my newest project, my patchwork afghan. And, finished laundry and dirtied a whole sink of dishes while making banana bread. I have several new pieces of jewelry to list on etsy and a new children’s afghan. This weekend I found myself going in ten different directions. I always feel more productive when I begin my monday morning with a list of goals for the day and the week. Monday, today I decided I still have ten things to begin, wrap up, or work on because I have no general direction. It is important if you are running any business to set goals. I find this particularly important in my etsy business but also to accomplish regular daily life challenges.
I find it helpful to accomplish tasks by setting short-term and long-term goals. Two lists and both include everything in order from most important to least important. The short-term goals include a list of daily tasks for that day. Short term may include dishes, wash rugs and curtains, bake a cake, finish gift cards, and work on my large afghan for one hour. The long-term goals may include a list of tasks a month in advance. This list may contain a list of items I’d like to complete for my month of etsy listings or a dollar amount I would like to meet by the end of the month. Another long-term list may include a year in advance. These can include a list of bills I would like to pay off or a certain dollar amount I would like to accomplish selling on etsy.
It is important to set goals to keep from running circles on a daily basis. Also, it helps one obtain a higher standard for one’s business, and daily, monthly, or yearly accomplishments. Keep from running circles like I did this weekend because I have found I rarely get anywhere fast if I am not completing anything. I feel like I am endlessly wondering. It’s important to run any successful business by setting goals. Good luck!

God sent an angel to my home today. While figuring bills I came to realize it was going to be another month deciding what bills to put off and calculating my late fees. It seems as soon as we get close to catching up we accumulate another dr bill, late fee, or unexpected expense. Its been tough. especially tough through December with more bills than income and five kids. I used to give to the angel tree and buy gifts for needy families. For the first time we were the needy family. God sent an angel to help us with the kids Christmas presents and food in December. Last month he provided financially through unexpected small jobs. He has blessed us each month. Not just our health but each time it seems we aren’t going to make it He provides by the end of the month. Today as I figured bills and noticed the money was a huge amount less than our bills I prayed. I began praying and through tears and I heard my phone ring. An angel on the other end, a life long best friend asked if she could bring me lunch. She arrived with lunch and looked over my bills and covered the bills I didn’t have the financial ability to cover. Thank you God for your angels! You never know when you might be an angel to another person. I used to be that for people and now when I need it God sends unexpected angels to me. Praise God and Thank you for our excellent health!
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places……praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. Ephesians 6:11-12,18
Our best defense against sin (the flesh) is through prayer and supplication.
